Deacon and Richardson were involved in all three phases of this ambitious project over a ten year period. Phase One comprised the repair of the main roof that had been propped since 1995. Phase Two was the demolition of the church hall built in the 1960’s. A new four storey building housing ten flats was built, together with some new facilities for the church. This phase cost approximately £1m, and received a Design Award by Worthing Borough Council. Phase Three converted the existing listed building into the Christian Community Centre. Extensive remedial work was required and conversion work phased in stages as funds allowed.
