Cedar House Nearing Completion

We have been closely following the progress of one of our residential Ovingdean projects on site, and we are excited that it is nearing completion this spring.

The project comprises the overhaul of an existing chalet bungalow.

Our design adds two bedrooms to the first floor, adapts the ground floor to be open plan and converts the crawl space to form a useful basement.

The front elevation has been redesigned, featuring a double height entrance space with vertical timber fins limiting direct views in.

Converting the existing detached garage into an annex is also included in the scope.

External landscaping provides a raised terrace and connects the dwelling to the sloping garden.

The material palette is contemporary, with western red cedar cladding, render, concrete tiles and zinc detailing.

The house benefits from incredible views to the rear, and glazing apertures have been maximised to capture it.
